A wedding party, a milestone birthday or a family celebration is mostly about the people, and a private jet keeps them together from the first car to the last drink. It also solves the practical problems that make group travel to a venue so tiring: the luggage, the timing and the transfers.
Why fly the party privately
- Everyone arrives together, rather than in a dozen separate flights.
- The dress, the suits and the flowers travel with you, in a hold that is not shared with strangers’ cases.
- You choose the time. Fly the morning before, or the morning of, without working around an airline timetable.
- You can land near the venue. Smaller aircraft reach smaller airports, which can shorten the last leg considerably.
How many seats?
The aircraft is chosen by the size of the party. A light or midsize jet seats roughly four to nine, a heavy jet eleven to fourteen, and a VIP airliner up to nineteen. A larger wedding party can use two aircraft, which also spreads the risk of a late departure for one group. Our aircraft guide shows the cabins, and group and sports team charters explains how we plan larger parties.
Luggage and the things that are hard to carry
Tell us early what is coming: dresses and suits, flowers and décor, a wedding cake, musical instruments, sports gear for the groom’s party. We check what the aircraft can carry, how it will be loaded and whether anything needs special handling. Bulky and fragile items are far easier to plan in advance than to solve at the airport.
Timing the day
Most wedding charters fly the day before so that the party arrives rested, but a same-day flight can work where the sector is short. Think about daylight for the ceremony and photographs, airport opening hours at the destination and, if you are returning, when the aircraft needs to leave. We build the schedule backwards from the ceremony and tell you what is possible.

Guests coming from different cities
Most wedding parties are not in one place. A common pattern is to collect the main party at one airport, for example Melbourne, and fly everyone together, while other guests make their own way. If guests are in two cities, a charter can collect one group, stop for the other and continue to the venue, which we plan as a single trip. Tell us where everyone is starting, and which guests must be on the aircraft.
The honeymoon leg
A charter can also take the couple on afterwards. Because the aircraft flies where you ask it to, the next flight can be a one-way from the wedding location to the honeymoon, rather than a return to where you started. We quote the whole plan as one trip.
Celebrations that are not weddings
The same planning suits milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions and corporate celebrations. The questions are the same: how many seats, how much luggage, which airport and what time of day. For larger groups and for team travel, see group and sports team charters.
What we arrange and what you do
We handle the aircraft, the flight plan, the airports, catering on board and ground transport at each end. You and your planner handle the venue, the celebrant, the guest list and, for overseas weddings, the destination’s legal and visa requirements. Every guest travelling abroad needs a passport and any visa the destination requires, and we tell you what each passenger must carry once we know who is flying.
Getting a quote
Send us the date, the destination, the number of guests and what is coming with them. We will quote the aircraft that fits and, if a second aircraft or a different class is close, the alternative. See what a charter costs for what moves the price.
Frequently asked questions
How many guests can fly on one private jet?
It depends on the aircraft: roughly four to nine on a light or midsize jet, eleven to fourteen on a heavy jet and up to nineteen on a VIP airliner. Larger parties can use two aircraft. See the aircraft guide.
Can the aircraft carry wedding dresses and flowers?
Often, yes, because the baggage hold is yours and nothing is checked in with other passengers’ cases. Tell us early what is travelling, how bulky it is and how delicate it is, and we will check what the aircraft can carry and how to load it.
Do you arrange the venue and celebrant?
No. We arrange the flight, the airport and the ground transport. The venue, celebrant and any legal paperwork are for you and your wedding planner; for a wedding overseas, check the destination’s rules.
