How it works

How private jet charter works

Booking a private aircraft is simpler than most people expect: four steps from your first message to boarding.

Four steps from enquiry to take-off. Tell us the trip, we find and price the aircraft, you confirm, and we look after the details until you walk up the steps.

1. Tell us the trip

Where are you going, when, and how many are travelling? Add anything that affects the aircraft: golf clubs, skis or other bulky luggage, a pet, a preferred departure time, or a catering request. You can call us on +61 423 347 998, email info@charter-a.com.au, or use the two-minute form. It does not matter if some details are not settled; one-way, return and multi-stop trips are all fine.

2. We source the aircraft and quote

We compare suitable aircraft from a wide network for your route, group and budget, and send you one clear quotation. It sets out the aircraft, the route, the date and time, and what is included, so you can compare options like for like. Where two classes are close, such as a light jet and a midsize jet, we show both.

3. Confirm, and we handle the rest

When you confirm, we manage flight planning, permits, aircraft coordination and ground logistics. We can add VIP catering, luxury ground transport and multi-stop itineraries. For international flights we plan the customs, immigration and landing permissions and tell you what each passenger needs to carry. If you need anything special, tell us and we will arrange it.

4. Fly

Arrive at the airport we have agreed with you, meet your crew and board. Depart when you planned to depart. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.

What to expect on the day

  • Often a quieter experience than a commercial terminal, because many private flights use business aviation facilities; we tell you exactly where to go
  • Your crew briefs you on the flight and the aircraft’s safety equipment
  • Your luggage travels with you, and we will have told you in advance what the aircraft can carry
  • Catering, ground transport and onward arrangements are as you agreed them

How we choose the aircraft

We start from the trip, not the aircraft: the number of passengers, the luggage, the distance and the airports at each end. From that we pick the class of aircraft that suits it (see the aircraft guide) and then find the specific aircraft available on your dates. The aircraft you fly is confirmed in your quotation.

How it works: FAQs

How long does it take to get a quote?

We reply as quickly as we can. For urgent trips, call us and we will start straight away.

Do I pay a deposit?

The payment terms are set out in your quotation and confirmation, so you know exactly what is due and when before you commit.

Can I change my plans after booking?

Private charter is flexible, but changes depend on aircraft availability, crew hours and airport slots. Tell us as early as you can and we will do everything possible to accommodate you; any cost implications are explained before you decide.

What happens if the flight is cancelled because of the weather?

If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.

What do I need to bring?

Photo identification for domestic flights and passports for international flights, plus any visas the destination requires. We tell you exactly what applies once we know who is travelling.
